The pair cheered each other on, and whenever their schedule would allow they attended each other’s events.
But along the way something went wrong. The back-end of the Olympics soured their relationship, and Kenworthy had enough when it was time for the closing ceremony.
Alas, poor Gus couldn’t shake Rippon — and so he had to resort to roasting him.

Yes — we know Kenworthy is playing and that he made a lifelong friend while in Pyeongchang. Really this Winter Olympics showed us how many amazing, funny and talented athletes we have in the U.S. who we really don’t get to see except once every four years or so.
These are people who got to show their personality, humor and dedication to America and we’re going to miss seeing them compete. Honestly though, at least we learned to follow them on Twitter to get moments like this.
