Philadelphia Eagles rookie Sidney Jones made a horrible mistake during the Super Bowl parade — he dropped his phone from a bus. We know this because some Eagles fans found it and posted to his Instagram account:
These Eagles fans hijacked Sidney Jones’ lost phone and posted on his Instagram
Welp ...

There are two ways this goes. Firstly, it’s super sweet that the strangers didn’t just steal the thing. Losing a phone is a horrible inconvenience, even if you’re an NFL player:
There’s even video of it happening:
But consider this for a second:
Either Jones didn’t have his phone locked, or the fans picked it up before the screen shut off. The end result is the same either way. Now what do you think an NFL player might have in his phone?
- Contact information of teammates.
- Private messages.
- His photo gallery.
- Perhaps a credit card saved into Apple Pay.
Now look: These fans look happy and on the up and up. Obviously they took time to post a message saying they’d get the phone back to him — but if you’re a professional athlete, then the only thing scarier than losing your phone is the realization that someone has access to it.
Or perhaps that your teammate gave it to the fans in the first place:
Welp.
