It’s pretty easy to pull off the Super Mario look. All you need is a red hat, a red shirt, suspenders, and a mustache. Sure, Bob Hoskins and Lou Albano did their part in portraying Mario in real life, but sometimes it’s even better when it’s accidental. That’s where 28-year-old American curler Matt Hamilton comes in. This is his first appearance at the Olympics, and now he’s become an internet icon simply for looking like Mario during a match:
There’s a curler at the Olympics who looks like Super Mario, and the internet loves him
Someone wearing a green shirt should grow a mustache to be Luigi.

Hamilton is not as cartoony as the beloved Nintendo mascot, but Team USA sees no difference:
Hamilton’s even acknowledged the resemblance, and now he has to keep that mustache for the rest of the Olympics, or else we’re all going to get mad that Mario’s gone.
The only thing that could make this better is if his teammate Becca Hamilton started competing with a Sonic the Hedgehog mask on, so Team USA would be recreating Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games:
Next time you watch Hamilton curling on TV, get a Super Mario Bros. soundboard handy and pretend the rocks are collecting coins as they slide on the ice.
