I feel bad for Wizards fans, and really, D.C. sports fans in general, because the universe has not been kind to D.C. sports teams. Sure, a team will make the playoffs, maybe advance a round or two, but that’s about it. I sincerely hope that in our lifetime, D.C. will get to witness a championship. I wish the best for every sports fan out there.
This GIF of Wizards fans in synchronized despair is oddly satisfying
Can’t. Stop. Watching.

Now that I’ve softened the blow a bit, please enjoy this GIF of Wizards fans reacting in synchronized despair during Friday’s game against the Raptors:
Look, I’m sorry I had to bring this GIF up as a source of enjoyment, but this is oddly satisfying. It’s enough to take in the GIF as a whole, but every time it loops, you find something else and it becomes even more special.
For example, when you first see the GIF, your eyes initially turn to the two folks in sweaters who facepalm together.
In subsequent loops, you notice that before the shot, the woman’s hand was locked and prepared to react to a Raptors three-pointer:
Then, the more you watch the GIF, you start noticing the other guy right next to her, who does not react to the shot at all, because apparently his soul left him a long time ago:
There’s other good stuff happening in the GIF (hey, surrender cobras!), but I would rather not spoil it for you. Instead, keep watching the GIF, and maybe you’ll find something you didn’t notice the first time. That’s what makes GIFs magical in the first place.
