Shaquem Griffin got a special call during the NFL Combine from one of his heroes — Deion Sanders. Primetime wanted to give him a shout out for his blazing fast 40, and his incredible bench press and the moment was almost too much for him to handle.
Shaquem Griffin got a surprise phone call from his newest, biggest fan: Deion Sanders
This was such a great moment.

Sanders said that Griffin was “what dreams are made of,” telling the UCF linebacker that he can’t wait to see him in the NFL. Getting those kind of props from an NFL legend was such a touching moment that Griffin did his best to hold back his emotions.
“Wow man ... wow. I’m not going to get emotional on the phone, but it’s an honor. It’s an honor to be able to hear that from you. Man, I was just trying to get my Primetime on, you know how I do.”
It wasn’t just a call used to fill time during the broadcast, it came with a promise. Sanders said after they got off the call he was going to give Griffin his personal number, and urged him to call if he wanted to talk about anything, or get some advice.
“I just want to make sure you have all the tools and the resources to be successful, on and off the field. I’m proud of you man.”
Getting props from an NFL Hall of Famer AND getting a mentor all rolled into one? That’s something else.
