Lamar Jackson is adjusting to the NFL rookie life and came face-to-face with a harsh reality this week — his Madden 18 rating.
Lamar Jackson is not pleased with his ‘Madden’ speed rating
“We gotta change that!”

“Oh no. That’s not possible. We gotta change that. That’s the one thing we gotta change.”
The 2018 first-round picks are being added to the game through “Madden Ultimate Team,” and Jackson was none-too-pleased with his 88 speed rating. Jackson got caught from behind after trying to run out of the pocket like Michael Vick in Madden 2004. He was not impressed.
Understandably Jackson is taking the news of his speed poorly.
For the record: I love Jackson and thing he was one of the biggest steals of the first round, but he kinda only has himself to blame for this. Jackson chose not to run the 40 at the NFL Combine or his Pro Day, so what did he expect EA Sports to do with that info? Now, the flip side of this is that teammate (and fellow rookie) tight end Hayden Hurst has an identical 88 speed rating according to MUTHead, which really rubs salt in the wound. Hurst ran a 4.67 at the combine.
Naturally Madden (and Jackson fans) aren’t impressed.
