The Saints held a charity softball game Wednesday night, like most teams around the league this time of year. But this one felt a little more special because of the people who were there.
The Saints’ charity softball game was the feel-good moment of the NFL offseason
What a great night.

It started off with super fan Jarrius Robertson, who got a base hit.
The 15-year-old has become a superstar in his own right thanks to his incredible personality and story. Robertson has been battling biliary atresia, a chronic liver disease that has led to two liver transplants and over a dozen surgeries in his young life. Despite all those challenges, he’s remained upbeat, joyous, and been an inspiration to those around him. Seeing him on the field is just wonderful.
That wasn’t all. Rivers Gleason, son of former Saints player Steve Gleason, got a big hit of his own.
Gleason was there to see his son record the big hit, which means everything. The Saints legend has been an inspirational voice in the fight against ALS, and is being considered for the a congressional gold medal.
There will be a lot more charity events by team this offseason, but this one was special.
