This tennis player’s legendary meltdown featured 3 smashed rackets and a refusal to play match point

Benoit Paire lost it!

Benoit Paire got mad on Tuesday night at the Citi Open — really mad. The world No. 55 from France was playing in the final set against Marcos Baghdatis when a missed smash sent him over the edge.

I really feel for the ball boy here, who was just trying to offer Paire a towel so he could cool off — but every time he got close Paire would blow up more and smash his racket. It’s like being near a time bomb that’s mid explosion, but you also need to give it a towel.

After the above video Paire’s racket smash count was at two, but if you think he was done well, wait until match point — when he refused to even try and return serve.

RACKET SMASH THREE!

Paire was booed off the court.
