It’s not often a headline resonates with you on such a visceral level that you immediately need to know everything, but that happened courtesy of the Dallas Morning News and “Texas grandma kills 12-foot gator, says she’s finally avenged her miniature horse.”
This Texas grandma killed a 12-foot gator and got revenge for her mini horse
HORSE REVENGE!

Judy Cochran, who was recently elected as the mayor of Livingston, Texas, spied the massive gator on her property after her son lured it with some seasoned raccoon meat. She took it out with one clean shot after hunting for the 580-pound reptile for years, because she believes it came on her property and ate one of her miniature horses several years back.
Ensuring nothing is being wasted, the mayor is now excited about the bounty of alligator-related items her family will yield from her kill.
“Moye Taxidermy will be processing it, we’ll eat the meat, have the head mounted and have the ridgeback part of the tail in my office. We’ll have the hide tanned to make some boots out of it, you can only make boots from the belly.”
Cochran wants people to know that her hunt was ethical and followed all the fish and wildlife guidelines, which is important as an elected official. Laws state that a gator must be hooked before being shot, which explains the video.
If any other gators plan to mess with her family (or her mini horses) she has one message for them: “Don’t mess with Nana!”
