Derek Lowe has been perfect through three, as he capped off his third with strikeouts of Cody Ross and Madison Bumgarner. And this time, Bumgarner wasn't able to keep up with his opponent. Omar Infante led off the bottom half with a line drive single to left. Matt Diaz stepped in next and slapped a single off the glove of a diving Mike Fontenot. That brought up Derrek Lee, who barely missed crushing a 1-0 fastball, but he still sent a fly ball deep enough to advance Infante from second to third, and Infante then scored when Brian McCann lifted a fly to right of his own.

Bumgarner got out of the inning without allowing any more runs, but he's at 50 pitches through three innings, and Guillermo Mota is already warming up in the San Francisco bullpen.
