He then made a first-pitch mistake to Cody Ross, however, and Ross lined the ball deep to left field, just barely clearing the fence. The solo home run ended both Derek Lowe's no-hitter and his shutout, and the Braves are looking at a whole new ballgame.

Lowe got out of the inning by retiring both Bumgarner and Andres Torres, but three of the four batters in the inning worked long at bats, and Lowe's at 85 pitches through six.
