Braves Vs. Giants, NLDS Game 4: Jonny Venters Keeps Giants Scoreless In Eighth

The Braves may be losing, but it's still just a one-run game, thanks to work from Jonny Venters and Alex Gonzalez. In the top of the eighth, Edgar Renteria led off against Venters with a groundball in the hole that Gonzalez fielded on the backhand, but Renteria beat Gonzalez's throw to first. Venters was able to strike out the next batter - Andres Torres - and then Freddy Sanchez hit a grounder to short on which Gonzalez made a very spiffy play and throw to second. They completed the 6-4-3 double play to send the game to the bottom of the eighth.

Santiago Casilla remains on the mound for San Francisco.
