The Phillies and manager Jerry Manuel have decided on their rotation for the NLCS against the San Francisco Giants set to begin Saturday night.
Phillies To Start Roy Oswalt In Game 2, Cole Hamels In Game 3
Game 1: Roy Halladay
Game 2: Roy Oswalt
Game 3: Cole Hamels
Game 4: Joe Blanton "likely"
Manuel made the announcement on WIP (via Todd Zolecki’s Twitter). Philadelphia was previously undecided on whether or not start Oswalt or Hamels in Game 2.
Game 4 remains uncertain, and dependent on how the first three games play out. If the Phillies are in desperate need of a win, expect to see Halladay on short rest. Otherwise it will “likely” be Blanton, which would then set up a fully rested Halladay-Oswalt-Hamels rotation for Games 5, 6 and 7 (if needed).
