While the Rangers were able to get out to a quick start in the first, their edge would've been lost had Colby Lewis come out and given it away in the second. So, good news - he almost did, but he didn't.
Yankees Vs. Rangers, ALCS Game 2: Colby Lewis Works Out Of Tight Jam
Alex Rodriguez flew out. Robinson Cano flew out, just feet short of the wall. Nick Swisher then ripped a double, and Jorge Posada walked to put two on with two out. Lance Berkman subsequently waited on and drilled a 1-1 curveball, but his line drive was hit squarely and right to Nelson Cruz, who made an awkward but successful catch in right for the third out.
Lewis threw 19 pitches in the inning and didn’t look to be in command, but all that matters right now is getting that scoreless inning. The Rangers continue to lead 1-0.
