World Series Game 3, Giants Vs. Rangers: Neftali Feliz Will Make An Appearance
Back in Game 2, the Rangers entered the bottom of the eighth behind 2-0. They again saw the lead become insurmountable when the Giants were able to score seven runs off relievers Darren O'Day, Derek Holland, Mark Lowe, and Michael Kirkman. Neftali Feliz sat in the bullpen, and Ron Washington drew heavy criticism for keeping his best reliever on the bench while the game got out of hand.
In what isn’t necessarily a response to that criticism, Washington has decided that it’s time for Feliz to get some work on Saturday:
Washington also said Feliz would pitch tonight one way or another.
The news should please frustrated Rangers fans, who are growing tired of seeing their bullpen continue to make situations worse. While Feliz isn’t a shutdown superstar, he had a terrific regular season, and is a better bet than anybody else in the bullpen to keep the Giants scoreless.
