Rays Vs. Rangers, ALDS Game 1: Jeff Francoeur Comes Up Big As Rangers Take Early Lead

David Price had a long and scoreless first inning, but it didn't take long for the Rangers to cash in in the second. Ian Kinsler led off with a line drive single, and Jeff Francoeur - who was acquired late in the season specifically to hit lefties - lifted a first-pitch fastball deep off the center field wall for an RBI double.

Two batters later, Bengie Molina then dropped a blooper into right field in front of Ben Zobrist, allowing Francoeur to score from second. Price was able to avoid further damage, and the crowd stayed with him and roared for his inning-ending strikeout, but Price has now thrown 43 pitches through two innings, and the Rangers hold a 2-0 lead. They'll look for Cliff Lee to work quickly and take the atmosphere right out of the building.
