The Rangers didn't score in the top of the sixth - the first time they'd gone scoreless since the first - but it doesn't really matter, as Cliff Lee has gotten past his early struggles to turn into the Cliff Lee we're all used to seeing. He went 1-2-3 in the fifth and pitched around an error in the sixth, and the score remains a very lopsided 5-0.
Rays Vs. Rangers, ALDS Game 1: David Price Leaves Game In 7th
Joe Maddon decided to yank David Price with two down in the top of the seventh, in favor of Chad Qualls. Price's final line:
6.2 innings
9 hits
5 runs (4 earned)
0 walks
8 strikeouts
2 home runs
107 pitches
Price had his moments, but the Rangers were able to punish enough of his mistakes to build a large lead, and the real question is why Price was allowed to stay in the game as long as he was, given the deficit and the fact that the Rays may need him to pitch again in Game 4.
