Rangers Vs. Rays, ALDS Game 3: Darren Oliver Works Around Double, Preserves Score

The seventh inning looked promising for the Rays, when Ben Zobrist was able to come up with a one-out double off Texas reliever Darren Oliver to put the go-ahead run in scoring position. Oliver, though, was able to strike out Carl Crawford on three pitches, and Evan Longoria then grounded out to second to end the inning.

Naturally, the frame didn’t pass by without an umpiring incident. The Crawford at bat:

Crawford fouled off the first pitch, but the second and third were called strikes by Jerry Meals, and Crawford was none too happy. It would appear he had a legitimate gripe.
