It hasn't been the easiest series for Carlos Pena, as he had a nightmare performance in Game 1, but he just came through at a critical time for the Rays. In the top of the eighth, Dan Johnson laced a one-out double deep off the right field wall. Carlos Pena then stepped in against lefty Darren Oliver and ripped a 1-2 fastball into right field. Pinch-runner Desmond Jennings was able to score on the play - with the help of a Nelson Cruz bobble - and the Rangers have now called on Darren O'Day in relief of Oliver to try and keep things where they are.
