As if there was ever any question. Even though they had a 6-1 lead, Joe Girardi and the Yankees went with Mariano Rivera in the ninth inning anyway, and he set the Twins down 1-2-3. Jim Thome struck out looking, Michael Cuddyer flew out to right, and Danny Valencia flew out to left.
