John Buck, Marlins Agree On Three-Year Contract

Via Jon Morosi, we learn that the contract will be worth more than $15 million.

The Marlins have been seeking catching help after getting little from the position in 2010, and the 30-year-old Buck fits the mold. The career American Leaguer has spent six years in Kansas City and, most recently, one in Toronto, where he batted .281 with 20 home runs and a .489 slugging percentage. It was the second consecutive strong offensive season from the once highly-touted backstop prospect, and the Marlins will hope that he’s able to bring that power over to a new team.
