Free Agent Adam Dunn Drawing Interest From White Sox

Slugging free agent OF/1B/DH Adam Dunn is looking to sign a four-year contract, but his market has been slow to develop. While he’s drawn interest from the Tigers, on Wednesday a rumor that he’d met with the Oakland A’s was shot down, and no contender had really stepped up.

However, via Jerry Crasnick, that all may be changing. Sources say that the White Sox have gotten themselves involved in the Dunn sweepstakes, and Kenny Williams’ interest appears to be serious.

The White Sox currently have an opening at first base, with Paul Konerko having become a free agent, and they also have an opening at designated hitter as well. Which role they would want Dunn to fill is unknown, but the team’s front office is an aggressive one that could conceivably get something done very fast.

Stay tuned. The White Sox need hitters, and they’ve shown interest in Dunn before. They may only be able to sign one of Dunn and Konerko - who they’d like to have back - but this could all develop quickly.
