Braves infielder Martin Prado had an MRI earlier Tuesday to check out what's wrong, and as it turns out, the Braves and Prado have got pretty much the worst-case scenario on their hands:
Martin Prado Has Torn Oblique And Hip Pointer; Will Miss Rest Of Season
Martin Prado will miss the remainder of the season. MRI revealed a hip pointer and torn oblique muscle...Rehab is at least 2 months
Not only will Prado miss the rest of the regular season - because of his torn oblique, he'll also miss the entire playoffs, should the Braves go on to win the Wild Card. This means that Brooks Conrad will have a very significant starting role, as both he and Omar Infante have now gone from valuable bench depth to everyday players.
