Rich Harden To Throw As He Comes Back From Lat Injury
Rich Harden has been battling a lat injury all spring, and because of his history, nobody was very surprised when, on Monday, Harden seemed to have a setback, causing the A’s to shut him down and send him for an examination. “Rich Harden, hurt again?” everyone thought. “Why, that just can’t be!”
Well, maybe this one isn’t so big of a deal. It turns out Harden is going to resume throwing on Wednesday. In his words, what he experienced wasn’t a setback; he just didn’t “feel ready to throw off a mound.” That isn’t a good thing, but it also isn’t an injury aggravation. It’s just Harden trying to proceed with caution to make sure he stays healthy.

Almost immediately after reporting to camp, Harden was shut down with stiffness in his lat area. It was said to be a minor injury and Harden showed improvement, but after a little bit of throwing, Harden’s apparently had a setback, and the A’s are shutting him down again and sending him for an examination.
We’ll keep following and hoping for the best. For more on Harden and the A’s, check out Athletics Nation.
