Justin Sullivan

A million people are expected in San Francisco on Wednesday to celebrate the San Francisco Giants' World Series championship.

The parade starts at 11 a.m. PT at Market and Steuart streets. The parade will move down Market Street, make a right at McAllister Street and end at City Hall. A celebration will follow at Civic Center Plaza.

Here’s a map of the parade route and more information, via the Mercury News:

The Giants earned the right to a parade by sweeping the Detroit Tigers. San Francisco put the final touches on the World Series victory with a 4-3 extra-innings win in Detroit on Sunday. Marco Scutaro hit the game-winning RBI to give the Giants their second World Series championship in three seasons.

The Giants relied on their stellar pitching staff to win the World Series. San Francisco allowed just six runs in four games. The Giants pitched 2-0 shutouts in Game 2 and Game 3.
