Boston Red Sox right-hander Clay Buchholz will start Game 2 of the 2013 ALCS against the Detroit Tigers, reports Buster Olney of ESPN. Left-hander Jon Lester will start Game 1 at home, and right-handers John Lackey and Jake Peavy are scheduled to take the hill in Detroit's Comerica Park in Games 3 and 4, respectively. Red Sox manager John Farrell announced his rotation on Friday, one day before the start of the series.
ALCS 2013: Red Sox announce starting rotation
Clay Buchholz will start in Game 2 of the ALCS against the Detroit Tigers.

Buchholz, 29, missed three months of the regular season with a neck strain, but posted fantastic numbers when he did pitch. He went 12-1 with a 1.74 ERA in 16 starts, and allowed only four home runs in 108⅓ innings. In Game 3 of the ALDS against Tampa Bay, he allowed three runs in six innings, with all three coming on a home run by Evan Longoria; the Rays eventually won the game in the bottom of the ninth. Buchholz's only other postseason start came in the 2009 ALDS against the Los Angeles Angels, when he received a no-decision after five innings of work.
Lackey will have to overcome his season-long struggles on the road in Game 3. The 34-year-old was 6-3 with a 2.47 ERA in 13 starts at home in 2013, but went 4-10 with a 4.48 ERA in 16 starts on the road. He did, however, perform well in two starts against the Tigers this year, allowing five runs in 14⅓ innings (3.14 ERA) overall and just two runs in seven innings in a start at Comerica. Peavy also struggled away from home this year, though part of his 5.27 road ERA came as a member of the Chicago White Sox. The series kicks off on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. ET.
