The Boston Red Sox will hope to avoid dropping a second straight playoff game at Fenway Park when they face the Detroit Tigers in Game 2 of the ALCS on Sunday. Detroit won the first game 1-0.

Max Scherzer will attempt to give the Tigers a two-game advantage, while Clay Buchholz hopes to even the series with a win at home. First pitch is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET, with coverage of the game starting at 8 p.m. on FOX.
Clay Buchholz will start the game for the Red Sox. The right-hander missed three months of the regular season with a neck injury, but looked dominat when healthy, going 12-1 with a 1.74 ERA.
Buchholz started Game 3 of the ALDS, turning in a quality start against the Tampa Bay Rays. He allowed three runs on seven hits, striking out five while walking three. Boston ended up losing the game 5-4, their only loss during the Divisional Series.
Max Scherzer will take the mound for the Tigers. Scherzer turned in the most impressive season of his career, going 21-3 with a 2.90 ERA. The right-hander struck out 240 batters over 214 1/3 innings, and is the presumptive favorite to win the AL Cy Young award.
Scherzer started Game 1 of the ALDS against the Oakland Athletics, continuing his stretch of dominance into the postseason. He only allowed two runs on three hits over seven innings, striking out 11 while walking two.
Scherzer also earned a win during Game 4 of the ALDS when Jim Leyland brought him in to replace Doug Fister. He threw two innings of relief on three-days rest, giving up one run while fanning two.
