Detroit Tigers relief pitcher Bruce Rondon has begun a throwing program in Florida and could possibly return to the team before the end of their postseason run, reports MLB.com's Jason Beck.

Rondon has a slim chance of returning if the Tigers make the World Series, but at least looks like he has avoided major injury.
There had been some fears that Rondon may have suffered a major injury after making just one appearance over the last six weeks of the season for the Tigers. The fact he is throwing again should alleviate those concerns for now. He played catch from 90 feet on Friday for the first time since reporting to Florida.
The Tigers' Championship Series roster can't be changed to add Rondon, and he likely would not be able to return that quickly anyway. If there is any chance of him pitching again in 2013, it would have to come in the World Series if the Tigers can top the Red Sox.
Rondon, who can reach 104 MPH with his fastball, entered 2013 as one of the Tigers’ top prospects and had been touted as the team’s future closer. He pitched in 30 major league games, posting a 3.45 ERA and 1.36 WHIP. He was great following the All Star break, allowing five runs in almost 20 innings.
