The Detroit Tigers hold a 5-0 lead over the Boston Red Sox after two innings in Game 4 of the American League Championship Series on Wednesday.

The Tigers put five on the board in the second inning as Jake Peavy’s command betrayed him.

Jake Peavy found himself in a bases-loaded, nobody-out jam after surrendering a lead-off single to Austin Jackson and walks to Jhonny Peralta and Alex Avila. Peavy got some help from centerfielder Jacoby Ellsbury, who saved at least one run with this terrific catch:
Unfortunately for the Red Sox, the defense couldn’t bail Peavy out again.
Dustin Pedroia booted a grounder off the bat of Jose Iglesias that might have turned into a double play, but instead resulted in only one out and another Tigers run. Detroit's 2-0 lead became 4-0 when Torii Hunter laced a double down the left-field line in the next at-bat.
Miguel Cabrera added one more on a soft liner into center, which plated Hunter.
Doug Fister allowed a lead-off double to Mike Napoli in the second inning, but bounced back to retire Daniel Nava, Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Stephen Drew in order to end the threat. Fister worked around a two-out single by Pedroia in the first.
Before all the damage was done, Peavy caught Miguel Cabrera looking on a slider, after starting the at-bat with five consecutive fastballs, to highlight a perfect first inning.
