The St. Louis Cardinals took their first lead of the World Series in the fourth inning Thursday on a RBI ground out from Yadier Molina. They now lead the Boston Red Sox, 1-0, in Game 2.

A Matt Holliday triple has the Cardinals leading 1-0 lead over the Red Sox in Game 2 of the World Series.
Matt Holliday led off the fourth with a long triple that hit the wall in deep center and alluded Boston's Jacoby Ellsbury.
Matt Adams followed the shot with a hard line drive that likely would've scored Holliday if not for the slick glove work of Dustin Pedroia.
Molina didn’t drive the ball nearly as well as Adams, but his chopper to second was enough to bring the run in and put the Cardinals ahead.
On the other side of the ball, Cards starter Michael Wacha continued to overpower Red Sox hitters with his mid-90s fastball and devastating change-up. The rookie struck out another two batters to start the third inning before yielding his first hit of the night on a broken-bat blooper to center from Ellsbury. Wacha ended the threat before Ellsbury could even think about testing Molina's throwing ability, getting a fly out from Shane Victorino on the second pitch of the at-bat.
Wacha dodged his first serious threat of the evening in the fourth. Pedroia delivered the first hard-hit ball off the rookie to lead off the fourth with a double. Wacha then walked David Ortiz, giving Boston runners at first and second with no one out. He then induced a double-play from Mike Napoli and a harmless pop fly from Jonny Gomes to end the inning with Pedroia stranded at third.
