St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday made the second out in the top of the fourth inning in unique fashion, getting thrown out at first base after a fielding error.

Holliday hit a pop-out to Jacoby Ellsbury, who closed his glove too early and saw the ball bounce off it. Holliday was jogging down to first, then took a wide turn when he saw Ellsbury make the fielding error. Unfortunately for Holliday, Dustin Pedroia grabbed the ball and threw behind him, catching the baserunner in no-man's land and allowing David Ortiz to tag him out.

FOX played an interview with David Ross during the play, causing some viewers to miss what happened. Tim McCarver struggled when they showed a replay of the errors, noted by Chris Kluwe:
