Clay Buchholz will take the mound for the Red Sox. The right-hander has started three games in the playoffs, sporting a 0-0 record with a 5.40 ERA. Buchholz has showed strong command, striking out 15 batters while only issuing five walks, but has surrendered 19 hits, including three home runs, over 16⅔ innings.
Neither pitcher has worked more than six innings during their playoff appearances, so expect both managers to have quick hooks during the game. Red Sox manager John Farrell also acknowledged that Buchholz is still dealing with injury, which could limit Buchholz on Sunday night.
