Former MLB outfielder Chad Curtis sentenced to 7-15 years in prison

Former major-leaguer Chad Curtis has been sentenced to seven to 14 years in prison Thursday for sexually assaulting three teenage girls, reports CBS New York.

Curtis, now 44, was found guilty on six counts of criminal sexual conduct towards minors earlier in the summer. In his sentencing hearing Thursday morning, Curtis told the court that the three victims had lied and referred to himself as a “Christian servant.”

Circuit Judge Amy McDowell did not mince words when addressing the court, calling Curtis a “predator” and “threat to any community you step into.” According to the prosecution, Curtis sexually assaulted the three minors -- a 16-year-old and two 15-year-olds -- last year while working as a volunteer weight-room trainer at a high school in Barry County, Michigan.
