The Washington Nationals will interview bench coach Randy Knorr for the team's open managerial position, Knorr told Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post.
Nationals to interview Randy Knorr for manager role
Several Nationals players have voiced their support for Knorr as the team’s next manager.

The Nationals are in need of a manager after Davey Johnson retired at the end of the 2013 season. The team remains in the early stages of the managerial search, making it difficult to predict who will end up with the job.
Knorr is considered one of the leading candidates. Several prominent Nationals players publicly expressed support for Knorr, including Ryan Zimmerman, Ian Desmond and Jayson Werth.
The team is also expected to interview Arizona Diamondbacks third base coach Matt Williams. Williams has close ties to general manager Mark Rizzo, and is likely the top candidate from outside the organization.
Washington did request to interview New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi. Girardi is under contract with the Yankees until Oct. 31, but the two sides have begun discussing a contract extension.
