Athletics’ strike-em-out, throw-em-out double play

The Detroit Tigers were threatening to score in the top of the fifth. They had runners on the corners with one out and Austin Jackson up at the plate. Sonny Gray and Stephen Vogt both stepped up in the clutch; Gray recorded a strikeout against Jackson, while Vogt gunned down Jose Iglesias at second base, ending the inning with a double play.

The defensive effort helped the Athletics keep the game scoreless heading into the bottom half of the fifth.
