NLDS 2013, Cardinals vs. Pirates score: Pittsburgh regains lead on Martin sac fly

The Pirates enter the top of the seventh with a one-run advantage over the Cardinals.

The St. Louis Cardinals tied the Pirates in the top of the fifth, but the Pittsburgh Pirates regained their lead in the bottom of the sixth and hold a 3-2 advantage after six innings.

St. Louis scored their first runs in the top of the fifth. Jon Jay led off the inning with a single, advancing to second on a Pete Kozma walk. Joe Kelly followed with a bunting foul strikeout, then Matt Carpenter struck out looking for the second out of the inning. Jay and Kozma, however, pulled of a double-steal during Carpenter's at-bat, putting two runners in scoring position for Carlos Beltran.

The outfielder delivered in the clutch, cracking a two-run single to tie the game at 2-2.

Clint Barmes led off the bottom of the fifth with a single, advancing to second on a Francisco Liriano sacrifice bunt. elly did not allow Barmes to advance further, ending the inning with a Starling Marte foul out and Neil Walker groundout.

Liriano worked a clean frame in the top of the sixth, but Yadier Molina and David Freese both struck the ball well against the starter.

Pittsburgh regained the lead in the bottom of the sixth. Andrew McCutchen led off the inning with a walk, advancing to third when Marlon Byrd smacked a one-out double. Kelly then intentionally walked Pedro Alvarez, loading the bases for Russell Martin.

Mike Matheny replaced Kelly with Seth Maness who surrendered a sacrifice fly to the Pirates catcher. Jose Tabata grounded out to end the inning, but not before Pittsburgh had regained their lead.
