Jarrod Parker vs. Anibal Sanchez face off in a key Game 3 of the ALDS.
Jarrod Parker will start the game for Oakland. The right-hander went 12-8 with a 3.97 ERA in his second full season. Parker lowered his walk rate in 2013, but battled home run issues as he surrendered 25 homers over 32 starts.
Detroit shelled Parker in his only start against the Tigers this year.
Parker only lasted 3 1/3 innings, allowing eight runs on nine hits and an Austin Jackson homer.
Anibal Sanchez will take the mound for Detroit. Sanchez went 14-8, finishing with an AL-best 2.57 ERA over 182 innings. The right-hander tied his career high with 202 strikeouts while only issuing 54 walks.
Sanchez faced Oakland twice this season, going 1-0 with a 3.75 ERA. He fanned 14 batters over 12 innings, but the Athletics flashed patience against the starter and drew seven walks.
The game is scheduled to start at 1:07 p.m. ET on the MLB Network.
