Cardinals vs. Pirates, 2013 NLDS Game 4: Time, TV schedule, starting pitchers and more
Charlie Morton will look to wrap up the NLDS for the Pirates in front of their home fans, but Michael Wacha hopes to send the teams back to St. Louis.
Charlie Morton will be the starting pitcher for the home team. The right-hander went 7-4 with a 3.26 ERA over 20 starts after missing the first two months of the season recovering from Tommy John surgery. Morton pounded the strike zone with his sinking fastball, increasing his strikeout rate while lowering his walk rate. He also posted a 63 percent ground ball percentage, the highest ground ball rate among starters with at least 110 innings pitches in the NL.
Michael Wacha will take the mound for the Cardinals. The rookie starter made nine regular-season starts and six appearances out of the bullpen, going 4-1 with a 2.78 ERA. Wacha flashed dominant stuff, fanning 65 hitters over 64 2/3 innings while only allowing 19 walks and five home runs.
First pitch is scheduled for 3:07 p.m. ET on TBS.
