Quintin Berry ruled safe on controversial call

Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz was replaced in the eighth inning after drawing a leadoff walk by Quintin Berry, who proceeded to take off for second base on the second pitch of the at-bat.

Berry appeared to be thrown out by Rays catcher Jose Molina, but second base umpire Mike Winters ruled him safe.

Yeah, he was definitely out.

That could prove to be the spark the Red Sox need to regain their lead. Hopefully it's up to Rays reliever Jake McGee, and not the umpires, to decide that.
