Braves vs. Dodgers: First base is hard
Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez botched a couple of plays in the top of the fourth inning, allowing the Braves to come back from a 2-0 deficit. In the bottom half of the frame, Freddie Freeman had a hard time fielding the position:
In all fairness, that was a rocket off the bat of Skip Schumaker, and the official scorer ruled accordingly.
Freeman’s play was excusable, but it’s hard to say the same about Gonzalez’s miscues. The Dodgers need to cut down on those or risk wasting Clayton Kershaw’s much-talked-about start on short rest.
