Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp is undergoing an operation Tuesday to "clean up" the AC joint in his left shoulder, the team has announced.
Matt Kemp injury: Dodgers OF undergoing shoulder surgery Tuesday
The center fielder is going under the knife for a minor “clean up” operation.

Recovery time for the procedure is expected to be between six to eight weeks, per team doctor Neal ElAttrache (through Eric Stephen of True Blue LA), so Kemp should be ready to go in plenty of time for Spring Training.
Kemp, 29, has been dealing with shoulder issues in some capacity for a little over a year now. The slugging center fielder had surgery to repair a torn labrum last fall, and missed time in July because of inflammation in the same AC (acromioclavicular) joint.
Shoulder woes aren’t the full story for Kemp, who seemed to be made of glass this season. The center fielder appeared in just 73 games for the Dodgers this year primarily because of ankle and hamstring problems, the former of which has sidelined him for the club’s postseason run.
Even when Kemp managed to get on the field this season, he wasn’t his usual all-star self. He batted a career-worst .270/.328/.395 with six home runs in 298 plate appearances, leading some to believe that his shoulder issues were/are sapping his power.
