The Oakland A’s lead Game 4 of the ALDS series, 1-0, after four innings, and don’t look to be relinquishing the lead anytime soon.
Tigers vs. A’s Game 4 ALDS score: A’s still lead 1-0 through 4
Detroit’s offensive woes continue against young A’s right-hander Dan Straily.
Detroit's series-long struggle to put runs on the board has continued through the first four frames. Oakland right-hander Dan Straily has made the Tigers look silly so far, fanning four and holding the powerful club hitless for the first 12 outs. Straily has needed just 41 pitches to get through four innings.
The Tigers have now scored six runs overall through 31 innings in the series, and all of those came in three-run bursts.
Things started out a little shaky for Tigers right-hander Doug Fister, but he's settled down some since allowing the A's lone run in the first. Fister allowed four hits through the first two innings, but has allowed just one -- a two-out double to Josh Reddick -- in the two innings since. He's at 75 pitches through four, though, so he may not be long for this game.
The A's got their run on a triple-single combination from Coco Crisp and Jed Lowrie in the first.
