The Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays remain locked in a scoreless tie after two innings of play in Game 4 of the American League Division Series. However, starting pitcher Jeremy Hellickson is already out of the game for the Rays.

After a perfect first inning, Hellickson struggled heavily in the second frame. Hellickson started by walking both David Ortiz and Mike Napoli on eight straight balls. Then, after a mound visit, Daniel Nava singled to load the bases. That was enough for Rays manager Joe Maddon, who pulled Hellickson early and brought in Jamey Wright.
Wright struck out Jarrod Saltalamacchia for the first out of the inning, then got an amazing line-out double play to end the frame without a single run scoring. James Loney made a spectacular play catching the ball and then throwing out Napoli at second.
Jake Peavy has had little trouble through two perfect innings. He has thrown just 21 pitches while striking out one batter. Rays first baseman James Loney was the closest to putting Tampa Bay on the board, hitting a deep fly ball in the first inning that Nava had to track, catching it a few feet in front of the left field wall.
