ALDS Game 4, Red Sox vs. Rays score update: Red Sox come back, lead 2-1

The Rays took the lead in the sixth, but coughed it up by allowing two Boston runs in the top of the seventh.

After the Rays took the lead in the sixth inning, the Red Sox came back in the seventh to take a 2-1 lead in Game 4 of the American League Division Series.

Jake McGee entered the game for the Rays, sandwiching a walk to Xander Bogaerts around two outs. Jacoby Ellsbury then singled to put runners on the corners with Shane Victorino at the plate. That was enough for the Rays, who pulled McGee in favor of Joel Peralta. That particular move did not work out so well.

Peralta immediately threw a wild pitch, bringing Bogaerts in to score and tie the game. Ellsbury moved to third on the play. Victorino then singled to bring home another run, giving Boston its first lead of the day.

Craig Breslow struck out the side in the bottom of the seventh, giving him four strikeouts against the first four batters he faced. He remained on in the eighth and secured one out before a Yunel Escobar single forced him out of the game. Junichi Tazawa and Koji Uehara each secured one out to maintain the lead.

The Red Sox lead the series two games to one and would clinch a berth in the League Championship Series with a victory.
