Free agent starting pitcher Matt Garza's elbow is injury-free and should not dissuade any clubs interested in signing him, reports Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.

Garza missed the second half of the 2012 season with the Cubs after suffering a stress reaction in his right elbow. Furthermore, he missed the first month and a half of 2013 with a muscle strain on his left side.
In a fairly weak free agent market for starting pitchers, Garza is arguably the best available. However, any sign of injury could be perilous to a big deal for the right-hander. In particular, if there is concern over his elbow teams may be driven away towards other options.
Therefore, Garza appearing to be fully healthy is an excellent sign for his attempts to sign a big deal. He did not receive any treatment for his elbow injury in 2013 and appears good to go moving forward.
Garza posted a 3.82 ERA in a 2013 season split between the Cubs and Rangers. He struggled some in Texas following the deal with a 4.38 ERA over 13 starts. There have not been many rumors swirling about Garza yet, though the Yankees are known to be interested. Teams could be intrigued by the fact they would not have to give up a draft pick to sign him. The Rangers were unable to make a qualifying offer to Garza because he was not a member of the team for a full season.
