MLB free agency: Players must accept, reject qualifying offers Monday

All 13 players who tendered qualifying offers are expected to reject the one-year offer.

Debby Wong-USA TODAY Sports

Major League Baseball teams submitted qualifying offers to 13 players last week, and those players must accept or reject the qualifying offers on Monday by 5 p.m. ET.

The 13 players to receive qualifying offers include:

Robinson Cano
Hiroki Kuroda
Curtis Granderson
Jacoby Ellsbury
Stephen Drew
Mike Napoli
Shin-Soo Choo
Carlos Beltran
Nelson Cruz
Ervin Santana
Ubaldo Jimenez
Kendrys Morales
Brian McCann

12 of the 13 players will reject the offer, barring an unexpected and improbable change of heart, leaving Granderson as the only player left undecided. Granderson is considering the offer but is still likely to reject the contract, according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.

Nine players received qualifying offers last season and all nine rejected the offer. Teams can still negotiate with players after the qualifying offer deadline; three players who rejected qualifying offers last season ended up re-signing with the team that tendered them a contract.

If a player who rejects the offer signs with a new team, their previous team will receive draft pick compensation.
