MLB free agency: McCann, Cruz and Santana reject qualifying offers

All 13 players are expected to reject their qualifying offers, but have until 5 p.m ET on Monday to make an official decision.

Jason Miller

The deadline for the 13 MLB players to accept or reject their qualifying offers is 5.p.m ET on Monday. All 13 players are expected to reject the offer, but will still need to make an official decision.

So far, three of the 13 players have rejected the offer. The full list of the players that have been tendered a qualifying offer is below, along with any official decision:

Robinson Cano
Hiroki Kuroda
Curtis Granderson
Jacoby Ellsbury
Stephen Drew
Mike Napoli
Shin-Soo Choo
Carlos Beltran
Nelson Cruz - Declined
Ervin Santana - Declined
Ubaldo Jimenez
Kendrys Morales
Brian McCann - Declined

We will continue to update the list of players throughout the day, so please check back.

Teams can still negotiate contracts with players who have rejected the qualifying offer, so your favorite team may not lose their favorite player to another team in free agency. Three of the nine players who rejected qualifying offers last season ended up re-signing with the team that tendered them a contract.

If another team signs a player who has been extended the offer, they will forfeit a first-round draft choice to the team that tendered the offer. Teams with a top-ten draft pick, however, are an exception to the rule; they will forfeit their second-round draft choice. If a team signs multiple players who have been tended qualifying offers, they will forfeit their top two available draft picks.
