Bronson Arroyo free agency: 7 teams interested in SP

Arroyo has received one contract offer, but is not rushing into signing a deal.

Free agent starting pitcher Bronson Arroyo has had seven teams reach out to him already this offseason with one offering him a multi-year deal, reports Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish.

Which team made the offer is unknown at this time, but the Orioles, Giants, Twins and Phillies are four of the seven teams who have talked to his representatives. Three of the seven began to show interest just prior to the general manager meetings that began yesterday.

Arroyo will reportedly not rush into a deal despite three teams aggressively pursuing him. He is unlikely to return to the Reds after eight years with the team and has made it known that he is hoping to receive a three-year deal.

Arroyo, 36, posted a 3.79 ERA in 2013 with a 1.15 WHIP. He has had an ERA between 3.74-3.88 in four of the past five years and has tossed 200 innings in eight of the last nine years. The ninth season, he pitched 199 innings.
