Bryant led the AFL in home runs and slugging percentage.

Bryant hit .364/.457/.727 in 20 games for the Mesa Solar Sox, helping lead the team to the AFL Championship. He reached base at least once in every single game, leading the league in slugging, home runs and extra-base hits.
The 21-year-old also earned Baseball America’s College Player of the Year and the USA Baseball’s Golden Spikes awards, and was selected No. 2 overall in the 2013 MLB Draft. He talked with Jim Callis of MLB.com about his impressive year, telling the reporter:
“It has been an incredible year for me...I’m very excited about the future. I’m thankful the Cubs gave me the chance to come out here and work on my game.”
Bryant impressed during his first professional season, batting 336/.390/.688 over 36 games between Rookie-ball, Low-A and High-A. He seems likely to begin 2014 in Double-A.
