The Seattle Mariners are looking into adding some punch to their lineup in 2014, and Ken Rosenthal reports they are interested in outfielders Jacoby Ellsbury and Shin-Soo Choo, along with a starting pitcher.
Mariners free agent rumors: Seattle eyes Jacoby Ellsbury, Shin-Soo Choo
Seattle needs some help offensively and is looking at a pair of outfielders.

Last year, Seattle watched Michael Saunders, Franklin Gutierrez, Endy Chavez and Raul Ibanez patrol the outfield for the most part. Outside of Ibanez who hit 29 home runs, the foursome certainly contributed to a 71-91 record and fourth place finish in the American League West.
Ellsbury, 30, would be a terrific fit in Seattle both offensively and defensively. With his speed and reliable glove, Ellsbury is a major asset in such a large ballpark like that of Safeco Field. His bat is also potent, as he hit .298 with a .355 on-base percentage and stole 52 bases with just four caught stealings in 2013.
Choo, although not the speedster Ellsbury is, would also improve outfield defense and provide pop at the plate. The 31-year-old bopped 21 homers last season for the Cincinnati Reds and had an absurd .423 OBP while hitting .285.
